WEEKLY NOTES -

  • thanksgiving's 3 weeks out: sweet potatoes, squash, roots, alliums + herbs to stock up on. a few pasture-raised turkeys are still out there too, ask us

  • still no hard frost upstate, so the summer stragglers (shishitos, green tomatoes, a few hot peppers) are hanging on next to the storage crops

  • the roots are in: sunchokes, rutabaga, purple top turnips, parsnips, mixed daikons, kohlrabi. plus young ginger + burdock

  • apples are peaking: honeycrisp, golden russet, granny smith, melrose, crimson topaz, northern spy and a long list more. pears are in their last few weeks: bosc, seckel, harrow sweet, shenandoah

  • chicories keep coming: castelfranco, treviso, chioggia, puntarelle, red rossa

  • brassica season: brussels sprouts, cheddar cauliflower, caraflex, savoy, napa, collards, spigarello, broccoli rabe

  • mushrooms always (cam's urban farm + bulich). pink + italian oysters wrap up soon, black pearl oyster + golden enoki land early december

  • citrus (not local, but we're not mad about it): yuzu, meyer + pink lemons, kumquats, buddha's hand, satsumas

  • the box starts mon 11.16 🥶 launch party fri 11.13 at commune, come say hi
